Lactotex is a brand of cotton cloth and fabrics for cheese making and conservation, emerging from a family company dedicated to textile since 1968.

Our specialty for more than 50 years of history has been the development of cotton cloth and gauze.

Our main goal is to offer local products and good quality to meet the needs of our customers.

In the world of cheese, cotton cloth is used to line the molds during the cheese making process. Its texture promotes the process of curd drain, facilitates the pouring of whey and avoids the clogging of the mold holes.

Additionally, the natural properties of cotton favor the ripening and preservation of cheese, as one of its most important features of cotton is hygroscopicity, i.e., the capacity to absorb moisture.

In this website we offer two types of cloths and fabrics for cheesemaking: one the one hand, traditional reusable and biodegradable 100% raw cotton cloths; on the other hand, a new product, the single use gauze, which is made of 100% biodegradable cotton and has undergone a process of bleaching and cleaning of cotton.

All our products are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified, which guarantees that the products are free of any substances harmful to human health.

This is considered the world's leading eco-label for textiles. It’s also important to note that the products have been tested and certified by the Textile Technology Institute AITEX.

We remind you that, apart from the products that can be found on our website, we can manufacture tailored fabrics and cloths to meet the needs of our customers (only by minimum order).
